Each month we ask a lecturer/academic from Australia to introduce one of their students to the design industry.
Student: Elli Lahti
Lecturer: Peter Odgen, Shillington College
Elli Lahti graduated from Shillington College in 2010, which helped shape her approach to graphic design. “The lecturers often highlighted that you should always have a reason for everything you do. Your design should tell a story and all the elements in it should support that story,” she says. This approach drove a bold response to a student wine label brief set by The Creative Method (TCM) in Sydney. Elli’s story-driven solution landed her Shillington’s internship at TCM, where she continues to freelance. Elli’s portfolio demonstrates a truly relevant skill set – one built on a combination of imaginative, meaningful thinking and the technical know-how to bring that thinking to life.

As her classmate at Shillington, I’m very happy for her. Way to go girl!
A sweet portfolio for sure. All the best!
