Adrian Repeti is a Sydney based graphic designer and artist. His latest body of work titled ‘Teem’, explores the many ideals we associate with public/street art, popular culture and iconic global imagery.
The artworks created explore a variety of expressive forms including painting, jewelry, photography, sculpture and skateboard deck designs. ‘Teem’ artworks display a whimsical, vivid interpretation of stencil artistry, pastel overlaying and graffiti like language. The works derive from rich urban landscapes, allowing the everyday commuter to appreciate its surroundings and creative qualities.
Adrian has a free, open-minded approach to the making of his art. His subject matter primarily explores popular culture and icons, street culture and tattoo art. His bold use of colour is important in his work, evidencing the influence of graffiti art. The use of characters add a humanistic element to his work, contrasting nicely with his more abstract and painterly style.
Repeti’s artistic influences include Mike Giant, Mr Cartoon, Hydro 74, Phibs, Reka 1, Jeff Soto, Futura, Ryan McGinness, Hombre and plenty more graffiti and tattoo artists around the world.
