You Only Live Once is looking for lighting designs from emerging artists to be part of the 11.12 NYE Party in Sydney. The winning design will be featured along the balcony of the Sydney Opera House on New Years Eve.

Armed with 50 x 1m LED happy tubes, 100 meters of rope light and 500 cable ties, artists are asked to design an art piece within an allocated space of 2m x 20m, whether it be a message, a word or an abstract piece.

The designs will be judged by Alex Mestrot and Tom Chosson Superbien (France), the very same duo who transformed the Opera House Sails with colourful, psychedelic projections for three weeks at Vivid Sydney. “The iconic Sydney Opera House is an amazing canvas and inspires so many creative ideas. To have your work on display at time where all eyes will be on Sydney for one of the first New Year’s Eve celebrations in the world, is an unbelievable opportunity,” said Mestrot.
