Sydney-based studio, Animal Logic, has won against international competition to bring Warner Bros’ feature film, LEGO, to the big screen.
The announcement was made earlier today by acting NSW Premier and Minister for Trade and Investment, Andrew Stoner, who explained that Animal Logic beat off international bids from USA and Canada to win the project. “LEGO will be an innovative film incorporating the latest animation and photo-real techniques which will demonstrate the strength of NSW creative technology skills and enhance the international reputation of Sydney as a film location,” he said.
The film is estimated to bring $48 million, as well as a proposed 200 jobs to NSW. It will be directed by Phil Lord and Chris Miller (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs - 2009) and is due for release in 2014.
