Entries are now open for the 2012 Australian Publishers Association Book Design Awards. The competition is dedicated to recognising and illustrating book design excellence throughout Australia and is now in it’s 60th year.

The winning designer of Best Designed Book of the Year Award will have the opportunity to design the 6oth Book Design Awards Catalogue, launched at the Awards presentation Night.

To be eligible entries must have been published during 1 January to 31 December 2011 (books which have not been previously entered and were published in December 2010 and new edition books which been sustainably re-designed and re-issued in 2011 will also qualify).

This year’s Call for Entries form was designed by Emily O’Neil, 2011 Designer of the Year, and can be found on the APA website here. Entries close 22 December 2012.
