The Desktop team are pretty excited with today’s announcement of Apple’s new iPod nano featuring a multi-touch interface.
Kind of like the love child of an iPod nano and iPod touch, this new beauty is made of a polished aluminium and glass enclosure with a built-in clip, making it instantly wearable.
As you would expect, the device features all the usual bells and whistles like Genius, FM radio and the ability to create and edit playlists, plus a reported 24 hours of music playback on a single charge.

“This is the biggest reinvention of the iPod nano since its debut in 2005, and we think users are going to love it,” said Steve Jobs. “Replacing the click wheel with our Multi-Touch interface has enabled us to shrink the iPod nano into an amazingly small design that is instantly wearable with its built-in clip.”
The new iPod nano with multi-touch will retail from AUD$199 (for 8GB model) and will be available from next week in silver, graphite, blue, green, orange and pink.

Love how you can clip it on your clothes! Ha-ha.
That actually has a few extra uses, like being a nice animated badge!
I wonder if you can get apps for it? That would make it more useful, or possibly more fun if there are games…
