Apple already offers iPod engraving but has now extended this service to iPads. On the downside though, you may not return an engraved iPod, as Apple’s sales and refund policy clearly states that personalised iPods may not be returned for refund or exchange unless the product is Dead on Arrival. The policy hasn’t yet been updated for the iPad but it’s likely Apple will adopt the same sales and refund policy.

Personalised engraving increases shipping time slightly and also reduces the resale value of your iPad, should you wish to sell it in the future. Potential second hand buyers may not be too keen on the engraved personalised message you have on your iPad!

So, just a tip… unless you’re absolutely certain you’ll be able to return or resell your iPad down the track, you may need to consider giving a laser engraved personalised message a miss.
