Book Design Awards – shortlisted entries

The annual Book Design Awards launched its call for entries for late last year, looking for entries designed between 1 January and 31 December 2011. Now in its sixtieth year, the competition is run annually by the Australian Publishers Association.

The shortlisted entries have just been announced, and with over 60 nominees announced over the 17 categories, we’d like to congratulate everyone for their nominations. Well done to the following nominees who have been part of desktop recently:

  • The Best Designed General Illustrated Book nominee:
    Forty-Six Square Meters of Land Doesn’t Normally Become a House
    – Stuart Geddes and Tristan Main (Chase and Galley)
  • The Best Designed Specialist Illustrated Book nominee:
    Love Lace Powerhouse Museum International Lace Award

  • The Best Designed Cookbook nominees:
    Cumulus

  • The Best Designed Young Adult Book nominee:
    The Wilfil Eye

The Best Designed Book of the Year and The Young Designer of the Year will be announced at the Awards Ceremony at the Powerhouse Museum on Thursday 17 May 2012.
