Festival designers for State of Design 2011 announced

Following in the footsteps of studios such Qube Konstrukt, Studio Pip & Co and R-Co, Melbourne-based studio SouthSouthWest has been appointed as festival designers for the 2011 State of Design Festival. 2011’s festival also brings on Kate Rhodes as creative director and a new exciting theme – Design That Moves.

SouthSouthWest is looking forward to the challenge, which a design project such as this presents, but is also acutely aware of the enormous responsibility it holds, not only to the current stakeholders and audience, but also to maintain the standard of clever design which has gone before.

SouthSouthWest is determined to approach the project with a strong design-led campaign that cleverly engages through its simplicity. The team explains, “We’re aspiring to create an identity that is truly public, is colourful, vibrant and moving. Whether we manage to achieve all of this, check back in a couple of months and you can be the judge.”

We’re certainly looking forward to it!

This year’s State of Design is set to kick off from 20 – 31 July 2011. Stay tuned.
