@studiocatherine Not in the slightest! Our printers just require a little extra time.
“We [are] thinking of how our grand-parents never wasted anything, often saving the paper from wrapping, putting unused screws into a collecting jar and hoarding string [and] rubbers bands,” – Frugal curators, Ruth McDermott and Ben Baxter.
Frugal, an exhibition at aMBUSH Gallery in November, offers a visual collection of contemporary responses to the ideas of ‘waste’ and ‘consumption’. Featured artists include Berto Pandolfo, Edward Coffey, Ben Baxter, Ruth McDermott, Phillippa Carnemolla and Christian Tietz showcasing works ranging from a CD sculpture to a light installation made from empty perfume bottles.
The exhibition focuses on ideas of repairing, re-using and re-imagining everyday items and making a step towards re-embracing the admirable and thoughtful attitudes of the past.
Frugal runs from 16 November to 18 November at aMBUSH Gallery in Waterloo, Sydney.
