Think of a colour that you can describe as sophisticated, but also dramatic and seductive. Does your mind wander to hints of Tangerine Tango (Pantone 17-1463)? Pantone hopes so, as it is their top choice for 2012 Colour of the Year.
“Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it,” said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute®. “Reminiscent of the radiant shadings of a sunset, Tangerine Tango marries the vivaciousness and adrenaline rush of red with the friendliness and warmth of yellow, to form a high-visibility, magnetic hue that emanates heat and energy.”
Tangerine Tango follows on from 2011′s winner, Honeysuckle. Orange has grown in popularity over 2011 and is predicted to have a strong presence in spring fashion collections in 2012, as well as cosmetics ranges.

Pantone, seriously, if you’re reading this: Take this image down immediately and replace it with one that’s done right. You’re supposed to be COLOR MATCHING EXPERTS for fucks sake, and what do you show? Three examples of the SAME COLOR that don’t match!
Stop making mugs and iPad cases until you can get the BASICS right. Are you a consumer brand or a serious tool?
Does this pantone contain cadmium? Or is it part of the Goe colour system? Looks suspicious to me…
