‘Postcards from Rome’ project

Typographer and design lecturer Dominique Falla has been invited to attend a Masterclass typography workshop in Rome, with Louise Fili, Lita Talerico and Steven Heller.

To make her journey a little different, Falla will be developing a collaborative project to allow others to share in the experience with her and, as she puts it “focus the development of my newly acquired typography skills whilst on location.”

Postcards from Rome will be a 7″ x 7″ hardcover, limited edition book of 50, one-of-a-kind tactile typography postcards, handmade by Falla, photographed and then sent to the individuals who requested them. The postcards themselves will be handmade from Fabriano watercolor paper.

Want to submit a request for Falla? The requests can be for people, places, or things (real or imagined), so long as they are from Rome. You’ve got until the end of May before Falla heads off on her journey. Do it here now.

This project follows Falla’s 2009 project when she travelled to Prague and “tagged” things for people (using paper luggage tags) who made their requests via a website.
