@studiocatherine Not in the slightest! Our printers just require a little extra time.
Wearing only a pair of black socks, Stefan Sagmeister has announced the relaunch of his studio Sagmeister Inc. as Sagmeister & Walsh, bringing young multidisciplinary designer Jessica Walsh on as a partner.
The announcement takes the form of a full-length naked image of both Sagmeister and Walsh which mirrors his initial announcement of Sagmeister Inc. nineteen years ago (which was an image of a single naked Sagmeister). The image was sent via email yesterday (31 May 2012) accompanied by the line “We will do anything for design.”
Walsh, 24, had already been working alongside Sagmeister for the past two and a half years. Sagmeister told Creative Review why it was a natural decision to make her a partner of the business: “In the two and a half years she has been here Jessica has really shown she can do the entire thing – from ideas to execution to being responsible for the studio. [Making her a partner] just seemed the right thing to do. She’s only 24 but she is an exceptional person.”
Who is Jessica Walsh?
Walsh is a designer, art director and illustrator living and working in New York City. Her work has been featured in numerous magazines and books, and won design awards from the Type Directors Club, Art Directors Club, SPD, Print, Graphis, among others. She has been named Computer Arts ‘Top Rising Star in Design’, an Art Directors Club ‘Young Gun’, and Print Magazine ‘New Visual Artist’. She has worked with studios such as Pentagram Design, and has also freelanced for a variety of clients such as the The New York Times, AIGA, Computer Arts & I.D. Magazine.
