Established in 2010, TEDxCanberra is a volunteer-run, non-profit ideas event that brings the internationally recognised internationally renowned TED brand to Canberra to focus on global issues and challenges currently facing society.
Promising fascinating concepts, rich connections and deep context across the areas of science, art, music, technology, international development, social justice and design just to name a few, TEDxCanberra returns in September 2012 with ‘An Optimistic Challenge’ – a series of talks that address the need to combat complexity, conflict, crisis and self-interest in favour of preparedness and positive problem-solving in an ever-changing society.
Presenters include: Karen Barlow (ABC reporter and adventurer); Bliss (hip-hop dance crew); Leslie Cannold (humanist and ethicist); Andrew Jaspan (co-founder of The Conversation); Scott Leggo (environmental photographer); David Lindberg (finance industry expert), Greg Mews (urbanist) and more.
