Typographic dating game

In Type Connection, there’ll be no misleading profile pictures or promises of long walks on the beach. It’s a dating game which provides you with a couple of other choices:

I am a structural engineer who dreams in grid formation, or

I am an effective communicator who found a niche.

US designer, Aura Seltzer has come up with a way to play matchmaker and “deepen your connection with type.” Seltzer, a habitual list maker and typography lover has created Type Connection, a typographic dating game, which lets you pair typefaces. “Type Connection presents you with potential ‘dates’ for each main character. You are the matchmaker. You decide what kind of match to look for by choosing among several strategies for combining typefaces. Along the way, you explore typographic terminology, type history, and more,” she explains.

It was developed as part of her as part of her MFA thesis, and includes a couple of well-known typefaces, each featured as searching for ‘love’ (well, a matching typeface) – it’s up to you to decide which typeface to match them with. There’s Adobe Garamond Pro, Univers, Archer, ITC Century and more.
