If you’ve given much thought to the presence of green within our cities, then this competition may be for you.

The City of Melbourne has chosen to celebrate UN International Year of Forests through an Urban Forest Art and Design competition.

Interested entrants are encouraged to respond visually (in A3 poster form) to the following themes:

• why trees are important to you
• your vision for Melbourne’s future urban forest

Although there are a few school-aged entry categories, the main prize of $5,000 is awarded to an over-18 category entry. The winning work will be displayed across certain points in Melbourne during November and December 2011.
