Art Gallery of South Australia ’1881′ wine labels
STUDIO: Sono AdvertisingDESIGNER(S): Sono Advertising
CLIENT: The Art Gallery of South Australia
Background: 1881 – The year that Adelaide’s treasure house, The Art Gallery of South Australia, opened its doors on North Terrace. The Gallery has been inspiring art-lovers ever since, including winemaker Ben Riggs, who created a crisp and delicious Sauvignon Blanc and flavoursome Shiraz Grenache blend especially for the Gallery. As fresh and exciting as a walk through the contemporary art collections, and just perfect for enjoying with friends under the vines at The Art Gallery Restaurant. It’s as rich, deep and interesting as the Gallery’s world-famous Australian art collection and the experience is every bit as satisfying.
Brief: The Art Gallery wine labels, served in the Gallery’s award winning restaurant, needed to reflect the Gallery’s heritage and elegance.
Solution: The visual impact generated by the sophisticated design creates an instant emotional bond with the history of Adelaide’s treasure. Using design cues to communicate the quality of wines such as high build screen gloss, corporate fonts, clever reflection of the label name and printed on Estate 8 textured stock. The finished Sauvignon Blanc and Shiraz Grenache wine labels add to the Gallery brand, appealing to the visual and taste senses and extending the visitors cultural journey through the Gallery.
