LoopFest identity
STUDIO: Oblong + SonsDESIGNER(S): Gemma Copeland

Identity for the inaugural LoopFest, a festival of live looping performances and workshops. Live looping is a performance art where musicians loop and layer sounds in real time.
The logotype, an ambigram created from a single looping line, was fed into an acoustic picture transmitter to create a number of ‘spectrograms’: graphs that show how the spectral density of a sound varies with time.
These spectrograms were printed onto clear acetate and photographed from different angles, playing with the lighting, spacing and placement of the images.
