Mangoola

CLIENT: Xstrata Coal
Mangoola is a new coal mine owned by Xstrata Coal situated in New South Wales. The word ‘Mangoola’ is an Aboriginal word for ‘Black Cockatoo’.
End of Work used this as the basis for inspiration for the launch material. Creating invites that are intricately laser cut paper into wings representing the Cockatoo wings, two large foil block stamps were created from a pattern representing not only the texture of the wings but the layers of the earth of an open cut coal mine. The gun metal foil colour was stamped into black paper stock and wrapped around a commemorative box, book and print collateral for the opening event. The new mine is a prestigious event in Xstrata Coal’s history.
