I was commissioned by Pecha Kucha Brisbane to create the poster to advertise Volume 21 of their night of inspirational creative speakers. This volume had particular significance as it was part of the global Inspire Japan event that was raising funds for the disaster relief effort in Japan, after the country was devastated by twin natural disasters in early 2011. A subtle approach towards Japanese aesthetics was taken, by mixing origami letters and a culturally-infused colour scheme with a modernist layout and typography. The final poster design is clear and bold and draws attention to the event and its significance.
