Knit Grafitti

With the tagline, ‘wrapping the world in fuzzy yarn… one stop sign pole at a time’, Magda Sayeg’s ‘Knitta Please’ group are bringing knitting into the public space in a very big way. Forget tea cosies and beanies, this group describes themselves as a knit graffiti group, and have been credited with starting the international yarn bombing movement. They’re fond of covering street poles, benches, stairs and even cars with wool.

Sayeg is based in Austin, Texas, but through the group’s Facebook page, users around the world can upload their own yarn moments (check out the album of yarn bombing in Sydney).

A few projects…
