Ropero wardrobe

Most of us hide the ‘untidy shame’ that is our wardrobe behind two neat wooden doors. And that works rather well for the most part – out of sight, out of mind eh?

Well Mexico City and London-based design studio, hierve, is hoping to change all of that and inject a bit of pizazz and colour into the bedroom with its Ropero wardrobe (Ropero means wardrobe in Spanish). The idea is to blend the traditional wardrobe with a display cabinet, providing a contemporary clothes storage solution. A drawcard of the system is the customisable lighting and storage units, so that any coloured interior can be complimented.

Ropero is in final prototype stage and will be launched this week at the Tortona Design Week in Milan. The product will be presented at Superstudio Piu´s famous Temporary Museum For New Design.

  1. Nice, not sure why I’d be storing glass goblets with my clothes, but I like the movie prop feel of it. Also it’s Mexico City, not “Mexican”.
