The Swashbuckler’s Guide to Becoming an Astronaut

Warning – this book is not about space. The Swashbuckler’s Guide to Becoming an Astronaut is actually aimed at the discerning job hunter, looking to find the perfect job in the creative industry. This quote sums it up I think: “There are 176 full colour pages filled with advice on how to get your foot in one of those doors that are usually really hard to get your foot in. Actually, some of the pages aren’t really filled with advice. Some just have pretty pictures on them.” The book includes advice from some of the industries biggest and brightest minds including Seth Godin, Nigel Marsh and Russel Howcroft. Check it out here.

  1. This looks like it could be the perfect present for me at Christmas! Learning new things about getting noticed in the industry, or possibly switching to a different one could be a great read. Or at least motivate me to get a brand new portfolio together over the holidays.
