Branding | Pepper Box | Gourmet Doughnut Cafe

Pepper Box is a gourmet doughnut cafe that caters to a more health conscious generation. The brand also recaps history of the first ever made doughnut presenting modern flavours and 18th century elements into one. These elements include vintage illustrations and typography logo hand-drawn, just like the old days!

The project has been created at Raffles College of Design and Commerce in Sydney as a Major Project.

The name originates from an with Gregory Hanson, an American claimed who invented the ring shape doughnut in 1847 aboard a liming ship when he was 16 years old. Gregory claimed to have punched a hole in the centre of the doughnut with the pepperbox gun. Thus, the name was born!

Pepper Box puts the emphasis of box with it’s packaging while the menu gives us a little perspective of the 19th century, literally! Advertising brings Pepper Box its greatest assets, the flavours! It was an attempt to give the reputation of doughnuts a face lift.
