2012 Melbourne Festival

Since 1983, the Melbourne Festival has celebrated Australian and international offerings of dance, theatre, music, film, visual arts, multimedia and art in a variety of eye-opening traditional and contemporary settings.

The 2011 program saw the meshing of music and poetry, acrobatics and hip hop, life and art, dance and opera, traditional theatre and interactivity, entertainment and education, migration and food as well as film and art from the likes of Ireland, Germany, India, China, South Africa, USA, Indonesia and Australia.

Now, the 2012 Melbourne Festival sees current artist director, Brett Sheehy, program and direct his fourth and final festival before taking the helm at Melbourne Theatre Company in 2013, programming a festival that is rumored to feature some of the finest local and international artists, many of whom Sheehy has worked with over the past decade.

The 2012 Melbourne Festival takes place from 11 – 27 October, offering over sixty shows for any age, any artistic appetite and any budget.

The full Melbourne Festival program is set to be unveiled on 30 July.
