Book Design Awards shortlisted entrants

The Australian Publishers Association (APA) has announced shortlisted entries in the 2011 Book Design Awards.

In the category of ‘Best Designed Cover of the Year’, shortlisted entries are:

  • An Everyday Transience: The Urban Imaginary of Goldfield Photographer John Joseph Dwyer (UWA Publishing) designed by Anna Maley-Fadgyas
  • Hand Me Down World (Text Publishing) designed by W H Chong
  • Quay: Food Inspired by Nature (Murdoch Books) designed by Reuben Crossman
  • The Gruen Transfer (ABC Books) designed by Emily Pacey & Katherine Hall, deLuxe & Associates
  • The Hard Light of Day (University of Queensland Press) designed by Sandy Cull
  • The Staring Owl (Omnibus Books) designed by Luke Edwards.

The results will be announced at the Powerhouse Museum on Thursday 19 May 2011, during the Sydney Writers’ Festival.
