A chance to animate with Dreamworks and ACMI

Published:  March 6, 2014

Applications are now open to enter Australian Centre for the Moving Images’ (ACMI) Designing Dreams Studio in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation.

The initiative is part of the world premiere of DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition. It offers Australia’s emerging animators an opportunity to learn from some of the industry’s leading designers.

The finalists will get a chance to go behind the scenes on a Dreamworks project and work with the team from the sketching stage to the finished audio-visual stage. They will also take part in a creative workshop project that will enable them to share their work with the DreamWorks Animation team based in Los Angeles.

The program will also provide an opportunity to meet DreamWorks Animation creative experts, join the team on the red carpet at the DreamWorks Animation: The Exhibition world premiere and attend the DreamWorks Industry Masterclass on Friday 11 April in Melbourne.

The day-long industry masterclass will offer a chance to meet professionals and experts including DreamWorks Animation’s Chief Creative Officer, Bill Damaschke; Production Designers Kendal Cronkhite (Madagascar) and Christophe Lautrette (The Croods, King Fu Panda); and Visual Effects Supervisor Doug Cooper (The Price of Egypt, Spirit: Stallion of Cimarron).

Applications close Friday 28 March at 5pm.
