‘A delusion of creatives’: collective nouns for advertising

Devised by creative partners Jana Pejkovska and Adrian Flores, Creatures of Adland assigns a self-deprecating collective noun to “the various species that make up advertising”.

“A murder of crows, a crash of rhinos. Why is it the animals that get all the fun collective nouns?” asks Flores. “For too long, the humble folk of Adland have sat there silently, letting the animal world get all the linguistic glory. Well, enough is enough. Enter the Creatures of Adland.”

And so they propose an ‘obstruction’ of creative directors, a ’grid’ of graphic designers, and a ’delusion’ of creatives.

Flores and Pejkovska represent themselves as the duo A+J, a “freelance senior creative team looking for the perfect agency to call home.” The team work on freelance projects and self-initiated campaigns to build a reputation, under which Creatures of Adland is cleverly motivated.
