The Centre for the Moving Image (ACMI) will open a co-working space to the public in its new office premises in Southbank this May.

The open-plan space will accommodate 140 people but the ACMI staff will take only 80 spots. The remaining spots are for anyone – from tech-start ups, to freelance designers, filmmakers, visual artists,  web developers and more – who would want to come together in a dedicated working space designed to facilitate creativity and innovation .

Designed by award-winning architects Six Degrees, ACMI X will also house the Melbourne offices of the National Film and Sound Archive (NFSA).

But it’s more than just another co-working space.

The key to bringing it all together is a shared event space, hosting networking events and pitch nights, to industry training courses.
