Art Attack

Art Attack

Remember the TV show Art Attack? Of course you do. And we’d probably say that the guerrilla street artists behind this stunt have probably watched a few too many episodes, but we are happy that they did.

Last week, a group of activists on cycles poured almost 50 litres of paint into various potholes and puddles leading up to the busy Rosenthaler Platz in Berlin – and as you can see, the results are quite colourful.

It is not yet known if this was a political statement, a commercial project or just a bit of fun, however some bloggers have been suggesting it is in protest of the recent gentrification and rent increases of the once bohemnian area, which has recently forced record shops and small boutiques to close and make room for more expensive establishments.

Or maybe it is that Life imitates Ads.

I am not suggesting BMW is behind this stunt as their cars tend to be a bit unpopular around Rosenthaler Platz:

tim – very true, it does look a lot like this add – it’s pretty clever though still to do it in the actual world. i bet the drivers were pissed off majorly!
