Art grads – Score yourself a $10,000 grant!

Art graduates – are you sitting down? We have some pretty exciting news for you.

The second round of ArtStart grants have just opened, and you (yes you!) could score yourself one of over one hundred $10,000 ArtStart grants to kick-start your career.

An initiative from the Australia Council, the ArtStart grants can be used for developing skills and business support, renting studio space or tools, getting expert business advice, growing skills in marketing and promotion, or putting together a portfolio.

“ArtStart is the perfect starting block for any artist working in any artform looking to start their career. We hope to see a diverse range of applications from all over Australia and we are excited to be opening the grant scheme up to yet more budding Australian artists,” said Libby Christie, Executive Director of Arts Funding at the Australia Council for the Arts.

To get you all inspired to apply, the ArtStart people have invented a new art form called, erm Pogoism – check out the video, it does look pretty fun.

So if you are a recent graduate or a final year student in the creative arts, what are you waiting for? Why are you still here? Get to the site and apply! Applications close 8th of March.
