This Saturday at the Museum of Contemporary Art (MCA) in Sydney, desktop editor Bonnie Abbott will be representing design writing and publishing at the ‘Pecha Kucha’ style event, 2020: Adapt or Die.

In partnership with Vivid Ideas, AGDA has pulled together 20 professionals from all corners of the creative industry, given them 20 slides and 20 seconds per slide, and asked them to propose what their area will be like when we hit the futuristic (but awfully close) year of 2020.

The talks will be in the spirit of sharing and learning from one another, using the ideas of each individual to build an idea of the whole. The future landscape of creativity and the importance of forward thinking will be explored within two challenging themes; Learning to Learn and The Future of Work.

The other speakers represent educators, employers, journalists, recruiters, strategists and thinkers, including Richard Curtis (FutureBrand), Linda Jukic (Hulsbosch), Gerhard Bachfischer (UTS), Doug Nash (Interbrand), Simon Pemberton (Tractor), Chantal Manning-Knight (Cloak & Dagger) and Jason Little (AGDA and RE:).

“Bring a notepad,” AGDA warn. “You’re going to want to get some of this down.”

You can book through the AGDA website.
