Create Awards 2014: The Illustration shortlist has been announced!

Published:  August 11, 2014

Now in its 10th year, the 2014 Create Design Awards is celebrating the thin line between what makes design and what design makes. And twice a week, we will be announcing the shortlisted entries for each category. Today, it’s Illustration.

Sponsored by Wacom, this year’s shortlisted entrants include Dylan McDonough, John Debono-Cullen, Yan Yan Candy Ng, The Distillery and Mimi Leung.

The judges were looking for adherence to a brief (where relevant), ingenuity, originality and complement to the project as a whole. Shortlisted entrants were to recognise excellence in traditional or digital illustration. And although not essential, this illustration may have been incorporated into advertising, point-of-sale display, editorial, corporate design or other projects.

The shortlisted entries are listed below. Head over to to see the images and rationales for each entry in full.
