Recently launched, desktop has created a dedicated online space for current students, and those who have graduated within the last three months, to share, discuss and showcase a selection of their finished projects to the broader design community.

Folio works like our Project wall, yet is focussed on the fresh, evolving work of the design industry’s newbies. Your recent assignments or self-initiated projects (completed while at university, TAFE, college or educational program) may be submitted for review by desktop’s editorial team, and all appropriate work will be published online with the opportunity to be seen and discussed by professionals, members of the industry and wider design community.

We hope this opens up a user-generated, contributory space for students to share work, process and discussion — a valuable place to gain insight and feedback from the larger design community, and from each other. And to kick-start all this off, LEP Colour Printers are rewarding all students and fresh graduates who upload a project with an $150 print starter pack which includes a free print offer from LEP.

With an established reputation for supporting emerging designers, desktop regularly showcases the work of up-and-coming creatives with features like Fresh – which is published in each issue of a bi-monthly magazine – and the Emerging Talent award that is presented alongside winning professional projects at desktop’s annual Create Design Awards program. In fact, the overall Project of the Year for 2013 was given to Swinburne University graduate designer, Andrew Robertson.

Folio is an extension of these successful existing programs, encouraging the design community to regularly engage with work being produced by Australian creative communication students.

Folio is now live and the vouchers and the print starter packs are ready for redemption. Show us what you got!

The LEP Colour Printers starter pack will be limited to one per person for the duration of this promotion.
