Gap use app to source child models

Clothes giant, Gap, has taken to technology in a novel way for its annual child casting competition, by introducing an iPhone app for submitting entries.

The competition, in its fifth year, is Gap’s annual call out for the next faces of babyGap and GapKids, to be used in Gap’s store windows and on other promotional materials. The competition is open to 0-10 year-olds and received more than 1 million entries in 2009, which may prove even higher in 2010 as this is the first year that Gap has introduced the mobile and web app function of submitting entries.

The app isn’t just for entries but doubles as a voting station, rewarding the child who receives the most votes with a $1,000 Gap voucher
