Junior Johnstons Hall Pass

As co-working spaces and shared studios continue to grow, it’s nice to see some not only design unique identities, but also develop interesting initiatives. Magic Johnston in Collingwood have managed to tick both of those boxes. Not only is their branding based on retro NBA aesthetics, but they’ve just launched the Junior Johnstons Hall Pass scholarship. This scholarship offers the chance for one emerging talent from any discipline to work out of the Magic Johnston space for a year.

Currently home to a growing community of established designers, illustrators, architects, artists, writers, and consultants, Magic Johnston would be a great home for a recent graduate or someone who is in the process of establishing their own practice. It’s an opportunity to get out of the spare room, connect with people, and not have to worry about studio bills for a full 12 months.

Applications are open now until January 15th, 2013 – with the lucky applicants announced on February 15th, 2013. For more details get in touch with Hugo Atkins.
