Justin Bieber battles cyberbullying

He’s cute and cuddly, and an idol to millions, so it’s no surprise that MTV has chosen Justin Bieber as the face of its new cyberbullying campaign, Draw Your Line.

Rather than preach to young people about the harm that can come from cyberbullying, sexting, textual harrassment and other types of digital abuse, MTV’S Draw Your Line is about taking action.

Kids across America are invited to post an example of how they’ve stopped cyberbullying  on a giant map. As a reward for their activism, they go into the running to win a personalised voicemail greeting recorded by Bieber, as well as two backstage passes to the taping of MTV’s The Seven – but we all know it’s the voicemail greeting that’s the real prize.

Nearly 800,000 people have already signed up. More than enough for Facebook to get the message and jump on board. They’ve recently updated their Safety Centre especially for the campaign, providing information about the Draw Your Line page and resources for teens looking to beat cyberbullying.
