Lonely Hunter – Sydney’s new monthly design market

Design market Lonely Hunter has arrived! Step into the Newtown Social Club on Saturday 27 July and you’ll find the venue transformed into a hive of creative activity as Lonely Hunter, Sydney’s newest indie design market, takes over. More than a regular pub market, Lonely Hunter is a confetti explosion of carefully curated stallholders bringing design lovers the best in local handmade goods.

What can you expect from Lonely Hunter? A host of independent and handmade fashion, jewellery, illustration, stationery, homewares and more from Sydney’s emerging designers. There’s also likely to be a few pompoms, some bunting, good tunes, fresh beverages and tasty eats from the Newtown Social Club kitchen.

Billed as a event that exists halfway between “trash’n’treasure schoolyard markets and high-end industry events”, Lonely Hunter is an initiative by Claire Ward and Courtney Johnson who founded the market after searching for a place to showcase and sell their own work on a regular basis. Courtney has been running markets in Melbourne for the last five years and makes her own Fimo brooches. Claire is a digital strategist who knits bananas under the label Bless Your Cotton Socks.

Applications for the Lonely Hunter launch market are now open to join an already great line-up of talented folk, this one is not to be missed!

The first event takes place on Saturday July 27 at Newtown Social Club.
