Motherbird wins at SOYA Awards

Motherbird are the proud recipients of the visual communications award from the recent Qantas Spirit of Youth Awards 2010 (SOYA) held at Sydney’s Museum of Contemporary Art.

The programme awards the best in the fields of fashion, film, object and industrial design, music, photography, visual arts and visual communication, selected by a panel of industry leaders.

Motherbird is an emerging communication design studio, made up of Jack Mussett, Dan Evans and Chris Murphy who dabble in art direction, branding/identity, print design, environmental signage, photography, llustration and digital design. The trio has worked for Warner Music, Medibank Private, Ferrier Hodgson, Film Victoria and Positive Posters and is gradually building up their portfolio.

“We opened Motherbird to create new paths in design, to foster our own and others creative thought and promote the value of design as an industry. Design is our passion and we’re incredibly lucky that our fulltime job feels like a hobby,” said Motherbird.

She has quite the biography… she’s worked with David Carson, Doug Aiken and Conan O’Brien and top clients such as American Express, Dell, Levi’s and The New York Times Magazine, and also art directed and designed numerous publications.
