Platform – submissions open

If you’ve ever walked through Campbell Arcade in Melbourne, you may have noticed artworks lining the walls. Named ‘Platform‘, the artist-run initiative has been going since 1990 (when founded by Andrew Seward and Richard Holt) and is an ongoing project which sources artworks for an annual program for three different sites within Campbell Arcade (the underground area which links Degraves Street to Flinders Street Station in Melbourne’s CBD).

If you’re interested in contributing in 2013 or know someone who would be, Platform is looking for submissions for its program running from April 2013 – January 2014. Submissions are open to all designers/artists, as long as they consider the following objectives of the project:

  • To present critical and socially-engaged projects.
  • To represent and support a diversity of art practices, ranging from emerging to established.
  • To encourage partnerships, collaborations and the production of new work.
  • To utilise the unique possibilities of the site and public interface

Applications need to be submitted by Monday 18 March 2013 to info@platform.org.au with the subject line: ’2013 Exhibition Proposal’. You can find more guidelines over here.
