Support AIDS awareness in Victoria

Want to make a difference to AIDS awareness in Victoria? In preparation for World AIDS  Day on 1 December, the Victorian AIDS Council/Gay Men’s Health Council (VAC/GMHC) is calling for entries into its World AIDS Day Poster Design Competition.

Students and recent graduates of art and design courses across Victoria are encouraged to respond to the theme of VAC/GMHC World AIDS Day campaign, ‘Inform yourself, educate others.’ The winning poster will be featured in trams across Melbourne, in print advertising and online, plus 20 shortlisted entries will also be exhibited in the Atrium of Federation Square from 29 November to 3 December 2011.

Prizes on offer include:

  • First prize: Apple Store gift card with $2500 credit,
  • First runner up: Apple Store gift card with $2000 credit, and
  • Second runner up: Apple Store gift card with $1000 credit.

Judges will be looking for entries which clearly communicate the message ‘Inform yourself, educate others’, as well as showcase originality. Judges include Rat Simpson, visual art convenor of the Midsumma Festival and Warren Taylor, director of The Narrow art space and lecturer in visual communication at Monash University Faculty of Art and Design.

    Awesome brief. Kinda disappointed to see comp limited to Vic. This should be National.
