Toby Neilan’s Freight Spotting

English illustrator Toby Neilan is predominantly known for a portfolio full of fashion and architecturally-focussed illustration, loosely painted with a circular pixel brush in Photoshop—a process that allows him to play with the spatial coherency and unfixed sense of structure with a scene, which has particular impact with his images of buildings and interiors. Now he has applied the technique to painting the fronts of freight-trains, an approach so suited that the trains appear to be crashing and jangling their way heavily towards you.
