Wine Industry Design Competition 2013

The Association of Australian Boutique Winemakers is calling on Australian and New Zealand designers (and winemakers) to enter the Wine Industry Design Competition.

In a different vein to last year’s event which called for fictitious labels to be designed to a set brief, this year’s competition invites designers to enter existing wine labels/bottles. Labels/bottles may be submitted for sparkling, white, red or dessert wines in three classes: Boutique (max 500 ton of production), Above 500 ton (with no size limit), and Open Class (where boutique can compete with the majors).

Labels will be judged to the following criteria:

  • Overall aesthetic appeal
  • Materials used. Is it the right bottle?
  • Good communication of contents?
  • Physical finish
  • Clever, effective design message
  • Will customers choose it from the shelf?
  • Is it a good reflection of your brand?
  • Is it a contender for Australia’s Best Wine Bottle?

If this is if interest, join with your wine company to enter your wine label design. Download the entry pack or visit boutiquewines.com.au. The closing date for entries is 12 April 2013.
