Melbourne-based duo, Lara Davies and Jess Wright (designers and co-founders of Harvest Workroom and Textiles) launched their collaborative print project, Home-Work, in November of this year. Based in Brunswick, the women have a firm belief in supporting the Australian textiles industry and, like the work they do at Harvest Textiles, all printing and producing take place on home soil.
Inspired by Egyptian symbols, bold prints and Harvest characteristic bright colour ways, the Home-Work line so far includes screen-printed bags, bedding, poster prints, pencil cases and beanbags . This is the first time the talented pair has experimented with digital printing, giving them many more possibilities in pattern creation.
To help make Home-Work a reality, the duo started a campaign on crowd-funding website, Pozible, where they exceeded their goal in two weeks.
“We are excited to offer a new range that includes digital sublimation printing, as well as wide format screen-printing. This means that we can finally produce Queen size bedding as well as design with as many colours as we want,” says Wright. “We had heaps of fun designing the new range and meeting lots of talented Melbourne manufacturers.”
