University of New South Wales Press is a not-for-profit publisher with a mission of publishing works that will promote the advancement and dissemination of knowledge. An identity system was designed for the five divisions of the company: the corporate umbrella, University of New South Wales Press Ltd; the Publishing arm, NewSouth Publishing; the distribution arm, NewSouth Books; as well as the two publishing imprints NewSouth and UNSW Press.

The overall identity was approached as a family of brands, yet each division still maintains its own personality. The trademarks and visual elements are intended to demonstrate the company’s commitment to quality publishing. The marks are simple and maintain a timeless crafted feel through strong links to traditional book typesetting, yet the marks maintain a progressive attitude that is ever present in the company’s products.

Digitalpress printed the brand book associated with the new identity system. Printed CMYK two sides onto 140gsm Via Smooth Bright White. The book was then case bound with round spine, black Iris Cloth with White Foil on the cover and spine. Five ribbons were also inserted to represent the five brands.
