Cardboard office

We’re pretty certain that Karton is at the forefront of the cardboard revolution. The European-based business produces everything from TV units to bedside tables to shelving units to double beds, all from 100% recyclable cardboard.

The storage and shelving units, in particular, would suit studios looking for a sustainable alternative – as all unused units can either be recycled or simply folded away when not in use. Karton has since set up an Australian office, and all products are available to order in the online store.

If you need storage with added cuteness, check out The Barnyard Method range of storage products – they’re available as a Ram, a Ewe or a Lamb and have room for a range of small items (images at the end of this post).

  1. I especially would love cardboard sheep book shelves!

  2. Sanderson, down in Moorabbin, does all this, with these materials, and bespoke, if anyone is looking for a local producer.

These look great, but I don’t understand how cardboard furniture counts as sustainable? Cardboard furniture isn’t as durable as wooden furniture, so I would think that well built wooden furniture that can be used and reused over a few generations would be more sustainable.
