NYC label Richards, founded in 2012 by designer Sarah Leslie Richards, have released a look at their FW14 collection online, and it’s a technology-bending, light spectrum-grabbing vision of internet culture pattern clashing. Icons of internet-irony, like flying orcas, spin among image patches with bevelled edges and drop shadows, in a mash-up so bizarre, it is actually cleverly restricted and clean. The entire collection is anchored by the light spectrum prints, grounding the whimsical images with a reminder of their roots — the computer screen.
